Products & Services
Natural Point Acupuncture transforms your life naturally. We provide ancient and modern practices with our knowledge and experience using sophisticated techniques to balance the body and mind.
Services
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient medical system that includes many approaches to healing. Acupuncture is the most well-known branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, but it is only one part of a much larger system. Other branches include herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha (scraping), moxibustion, tui na (Chinese medical massage), as well as lifestyle and nutritional guidance.
At Natural Point Acupuncture, we are knowledgeable in all of these areas, but our practice primarily focuses on acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, with additional supportive therapies offered as needed based on your condition and treatment plan.
Acupuncture
Perhaps the best-known treatment in Chinese medicine, acupuncture is used for a wide variety of health challenges and is one of the most studied medical treatments in the world.
If you are coming in for a painful condition—especially muscle or joint pain—acupuncture will very likely be part of your treatment plan. If you are coming in for a condition that is considered more “internal medicine,” then Chinese herbal medicine may also be part of your care.
In this context, internal medicine can include any acute or chronic condition that interferes with daily life, such as:
- Trouble sleeping
- Increased stress or anxiety
- Hormonal imbalance
- Digestive upset
- Fatigue
- Headaches or migraines
- Mood imbalance
- Immune support
The first written record of acupuncture dates back over 2,000 years. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin, stainless steel, solid, single-use needles into specific points on the body. Needles come in various sizes and gauges, and the type used is chosen based on the area being treated and your comfort level.
What to Expect
Your initial visit will include a full medical intake, past health history, and questions based on Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Your practitioner will create a customized diagnosis and treatment plan for you.
The practitioner may:
- Look at your tongue
- Read your pulse
- Observe your ears and eyes
- Palpate (gently check) areas of the body to refine the diagnosis
- Discuss dietary and lifestyle recommendations
During the treatment, most people feel deeply relaxed. You may notice sensations such as warmth, heaviness, tingling, or a gentle dull ache—this is normal and often a sign the points are responding.
After the treatment, it’s common to feel:
- Calm and relaxed
- Slightly tired (especially after the first few visits)
- Noticeably looser in the muscles
- Clearer mentally
- Occasionally a short “healing response” such as mild soreness, bruise or temporary symptom shifts
Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is the heart of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Many of the plant- and mineral-based formulas used today have been in use for centuries and are still relied upon because they are effective, time-tested, and deeply individualized.
At Natural Point, Chinese herbal medicine typically consists of custom tea blends made from pharmaceutical-grade ingredients in a convenient powdered form, which is easily consumed on the go 2–3 times per day.
If you are coming to our clinic for an internal medicine condition—such as digestive disorders, insomnia, anxiety, depression, hormonal imbalance, or chronic fatigue—Chinese herbal medicine may be a central part of your treatment plan.
Studying Chinese herbal medicine requires years to complete. Our herb suppliers follow rigorous Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and formulas are tested for purity and proper identification per FDA standards.
Chinese herbal medicine is extremely safe and effective when used under the direction of a licensed professional.
What to Expect
Before providing an herbal formula, your practitioner will discuss:
- Any medications you are taking
- Dietary restrictions or sensitivities
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding status (if applicable)
- Your full symptom picture (sleep, digestion, energy, stress, cycle, etc.)
Herbs can be remarkably powerful in helping you reach your health goals—especially when combined with acupuncture.
Cupping
Cupping has become popular in the media after celebrities and athletes like Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Phelps were pictured with cupping marks.
Cupping involves the use of small cups that are heated or vacuumed and then placed onto the body to create a suction effect. There are different styles of cupping, and your practitioner will explain which method is best for your condition.
Cupping is often used to help:
- Stretch tight muscles
- Relieve soreness and stiffness
- Stimulate circulation
- Support recovery after strain or overuse
- Reduce stress held in the body
Cupping may be used for pain, stiffness, stress/emotional tension, migraines, rheumatism, and in some cases cosmetic concerns such as reducing the appearance of cellulite.
What to Expect
Cupping is not typically painful, but it can feel intense in areas of tightness. It is very common to have bruising or circular marks afterward. These marks are temporary and usually fade within several days.
Gua sha / Scraping
Gua sha has become widely known on social media for its results in facial rejuvenation, but it has been used for thousands of years as a traditional therapy for pain, tension, and illness.
Gua sha on the face can have:
- Lifting effects
- Tightening and sculpting effects
- Improved circulation and lymph movement
Traditionally, gua sha was also used for sudden onset conditions such as:
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Acute discomfort
- Tight neck and shoulders
- Headaches
Gua sha is typically performed using a jade, stone, or stainless steel tool. It is usually relaxing and not painful, but it often leaves visible marks depending on the area treated.
What to Expect
You may see redness or bruising marks after treatment. This is normal and temporary. Many patients notice improved range of motion, reduced tightness, and a feeling of “release” afterward.
Auricular Therapy or Ear Seeds
Auricular therapy is the practice of treating the ear based on the concept that the ear reflects the entire body. The ear is considered a microsystem, meaning specific points on the ear correspond to different organs and systems.
In the clinic, auricular therapy may include placing acupuncture needles on specific points of the ear. This method is well known for supporting concerns such as:
- Smoking cessation
- Weight loss support
- PTSD and trauma-related patterns
- Stress and anxiety
- Pain regulation
Ear seeds (auricular acupressure) are a non-invasive version of this therapy. Small seeds are applied with tiny stickers to stimulate specific points on the ear.
The ear can also show signs of acute or chronic imbalance, such as redness, visible veins, or discoloration. Ear seeds come in a variety of styles and may be used for calming, pain relief, or other supportive goals.
What to Expect
Ear seeds are applied in the clinic and can remain on the ear for up to 5 days. You will be shown how to stimulate the points several times a day depending on your condition.
Essential Oils
Essential oils date back more than 5,000 years. At one point, they were used to treat virtually every ailment known to man. They were so valued in ancient civilizations that many were mentioned in the Bible and even used as currency.
Essential oils are pure botanical extracts. With their recent popularity, essential oils have become more mainstream and are seen everywhere. At Natural Point, we only use 100% therapeutic-grade essential oils—they do not contain artificial fragrance.
When essential oils are coupled with acupuncture, their effects can be very relaxing and may intensify and lengthen the benefits of treatment.
Essential oils are lipid soluble, and penetrate the blood brain barrier which is they can have such a profound influence on the central nervous system and emotional regulation. They may be used to support:
- Relaxation and stress reduction
- Emotional balance
- Hormonal support
- Immune support
- Fighting bacteria (when appropriate)
What to Expect
Your clinician may use essential oils at the beginning of your treatment to help calm the nervous system and create a more relaxed state before acupuncture begins.
Tui Na (Traditional Chinese Medical Massage)
Tui Na is the Chinese term for “pulling and pushing.” It is a form of Traditional Chinese medical bodywork that uses the hands, thumbs, and sometimes elbows to work the muscles, fascia, and meridians.
Tui Na is performed in a relaxing yet stimulating way to help:
- Release tight muscles
- Improve circulation
- Support lymph movement
- Restore range of motion
- Reduce pain patterns
This therapy is very effective for muscular tightness and is often used in children as well.
What to Expect
Tui Na is not a spa massage—it is more clinical and targeted. Some areas may feel tender if they are tight or stagnant, but treatment is always adjusted to your comfort level.
Moxibustion (Moxa Therapy)
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy that uses gentle heat from the herb mugwort (called moxa) to warm and stimulate specific acupuncture points and areas of the body. In TCM, moxa is especially helpful for patterns of cold and dampness, which can show up as fatigue, heaviness in the body, sluggish digestion, loose stools, bloating, chronic aches, or pain that feels worse in cold or rainy weather. By warming the channels and improving circulation, moxibustion helps the body “dry dampness,” strengthen digestion, and support the body’s natural energy and immune function.
Moxibustion is also well known for its use in pregnancy—especially for supporting the body in cases of breech presentation. When appropriate, moxa may be used on specific acupuncture points (most commonly on the feet) to encourage movement and support optimal fetal positioning. In many cases, patients are able to safely continue moxibustion at home with clear guidance from their practitioner, making it a simple and effective way to support treatment between visits.
What to Expect at Natural Point Acupuncture
If you are new to Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is normal to have questions. Most patients are surprised by how relaxing the experience is.
A typical visit may include:
- A thorough intake and discussion of symptoms
- Acupuncture treatment
- Additional therapies such as cupping, gua sha, tui na, or ear seeds when appropriate
- Herbal recommendations when indicated
- Lifestyle, dietary, and nutritional guidance based on your goals
Your treatment plan is always customized. Two people can have the same symptom, but for completely different reasons—and in TCM, the treatment is based on the root pattern, not just the label.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive system that treats the whole person—body, mind, and lifestyle. At Natural Point, our goal is to help you feel better in a way that is natural, effective, and sustainable. Whether you are seeking relief from pain, support for stress and sleep, improved digestion, hormonal balance, or long-term wellness, we will create a treatment plan that meets you where you are and supports where you want to go.
Products
At Natural Point Acupuncture, we carry a carefully selected collection of professional-grade products that support your treatment plan and help you continue healing between visits. Traditional Chinese Medicine is most effective when it is consistent—meaning what you do outside the clinic matters just as much as what happens during your appointment.
Our product recommendations are chosen for three reasons: quality, safety, and effectiveness. We only carry products we trust, and we take the time to explain what each product is used for and how to use it correctly.
Chinese Herbal medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is one of the most powerful branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Unlike over-the-counter supplements, Chinese herbs are typically used in custom formulas, meaning multiple herbs are combined to address the root cause of your symptoms—not just the symptom itself.
What We Carry
We primarily dispense herbs in granule (powder) form, because it is one of the fastest and most effective ways to see results. Granules are easy to use: you simply mix the powder into warm water and drink it like tea, usually 2–3 times per day.
For patients who are sensitive to taste or digestion, we also carry herbs in capsule form, including both traditional formulas and modern practitioner-grade blends.
Our Primary Supplier: Evergreen Herbs
We primarily use Evergreen Herbs, a professional-grade herbal supplier that sells only to licensed practitioners. We trust Evergreen for several important reasons:
GMP Certification & Rigorous Testing
Evergreen follows strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Every batch undergoes safety testing for:
- Heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium)
- Pesticides and agricultural chemicals
- Microbes (bacteria, mold, yeast)
- Herb authenticity (to ensure correct identification and no substitutes)
- Potency (to confirm therapeutic levels of active compounds)
Certificates of Analysis (COA)
For any herb we dispense, we can provide a Certificate of Analysis showing it passed safety testing. This is not marketing—it is documentation.
Professional-Grade Access
Evergreen requires practitioner credentials to purchase. This creates accountability and ensures herbs are being dispensed by trained professionals who understand dosing, safety, and proper use.
Supplements
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, supplements are not about replacing food—they are about restoring balance in a modern world that no longer supports it.
We live in a highly toxic environment. Compared to previous generations, we are exposed daily to pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, plastics, air pollution, medications, chronic stress, and poor sleep. Our detox systems—especially the liver, gut, and lymph—are under constant load. Even when someone eats “well,” their body may still struggle to absorb, utilize, or retain nutrients efficiently.
At the same time, the food supply is not what it used to be. Soil depletion, industrial farming, long storage times, and food processing have dramatically reduced the nutrient density of fruits, vegetables, and grains. Studies consistently show that modern foods contain lower levels of key minerals such as magnesium, zinc, selenium, and iron. So while food should always be the foundation, it is increasingly difficult to meet nutritional needs through diet alone.
What we commonly see are patterns such as:
- Low energy and fatigue
- Increased inflammation
- Poor stress tolerance
- Digestive issues that affect nutrient absorption
- Hormonal imbalance
- Weakened immune function
- Slower recovery and healing
Supplements, when chosen thoughtfully, help fill nutritional gaps, support detoxification and cellular repair, reduce inflammation, and improve how the body adapts to stress. They are especially important for supporting digestion, the nervous system, and metabolic processes that are often strained in modern life.
It’s also important to note that supplements are most effective when they are personalized and purposeful. Taking random or excessive supplements can be counterproductive. The goal is to provide the body with exactly what it needs—at the right dose and for the right amount of time—so it can restore balance and function more efficiently.
In short, supplements are important today not because people are doing everything wrong, but because our environment, food quality, and stress levels have changed dramatically. Used correctly, supplements act as a bridge—supporting the body while deeper healing and long-term lifestyle changes take place.

Evil Bone Water (Zheng Xie Gu Shui)
Evil Bone Water, also known as Zheng Xie Gu Shui, is a powerful traditional Chinese herbal topical used to support the body’s recovery from injuries and pain. This formula has been used for centuries and is commonly applied for both sports-related and everyday injuries.
It is most often used for:
- Sports and accidental injuries
- Sprains and strains
- Muscle cramps
- Bruises
- Insect bites
- Broken bones (to support healing and comfort)
- Mild topical numbing/anesthetic support
This is a 500-year-old formula that has been refined over time to support modern bone, muscle, and skin recovery quickly and effectively. It contains a blend of Chinese medicinal herbs including ingredients such as camphor, menthol, pseudoginseng, Japanese knotweed, and cinnamon bark.

CBD (Cannabidiol) Products
CBD (Cannabidiol) products can be supportive for a wide range of concerns, especially those involving pain, inflammation, stress, and sleep.
CBD can be taken internally or used topically in products such as:
- Salves
- Lotions
- Roll-ons
- Penetrating massage oils
CBD comes from hemp, not marijuana. This means it is:
- Non-psychoactive (does not make you feel “high”)
- Not addictive
- Often more effective over time, with many patients needing less as their system stabilizes
CBD interacts with a natural regulatory system in the body called the endocannabinoid system, which helps the body maintain balance (homeostasis). This is similar to the way acupuncture supports the body—by helping regulate systems rather than forcing one symptom to shut off.
CBD first gained mainstream attention for its role in seizure support and its ongoing research in areas such as inflammation and immune regulation. We carry a variety of strengths, flavors, and formats based on patient needs.
CBD may be helpful for:
- Anxiety and emotional regulation
- Depression support
- Acute or chronic pain and inflammation (including neuropathy)
- Insomnia and sleep issues
- PTSD
- Digestive inflammation
- Acne and skin inflammation
- Energy regulation and recovery
- Autoimmune-related inflammation support
Skin Products
Because our patients come in with a wide variety of conditions, we also carry products designed to support the skin—especially for those with sensitive skin, or chronic concerns such as eczema and psoriasis. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the skin is often connected to deeper systems in the body, including digestion, inflammation, immune response, and stress. While we always focus on addressing root causes through acupuncture and herbal medicine, high-quality topical products can provide meaningful comfort and support along the way.
We carry a gentle, effective line called Emily Skin Soothers, which is especially helpful for patients who need simple, clean products that do not irritate already-sensitive skin. We offer both soap and lotion, and these are popular among patients who struggle with dryness, irritation, itchiness, or skin that reacts easily to conventional skincare.
We also carry Wild Grace Apothecary, a beautiful collection of products created with women’s wellness in mind. Wild Grace offers a variety of thoughtfully crafted remedies and blends, and many of our patients love these products for emotional balance, hormonal support, and daily self-care. Some favorites include her essential oil blends designed for the breasts, abdomen, and for empaths—supporting grounding, calm, and a stronger sense of emotional boundaries.
These products are a wonderful complement to in-clinic care, and we are happy to recommend options based on your skin type, sensitivities, and wellness goals.
LifeWave Patches (Phototherapy Patches)
LifeWave patches are a non-invasive wellness technology designed to support the body’s natural healing and recovery processes. These patches use a form of phototherapy (light therapy)—not medication and not stimulants—to activate specific points on the body. In many cases, the patches are placed on or near acupuncture points, making them an excellent complement to Traditional Chinese Medicine care.
LifeWave patches work by reflecting specific wavelengths of light back into the skin, which may help stimulate the body’s natural repair systems. Many patients use them for support with pain, energy, recovery, sleep, and overall vitality.
LifeWave is also known for its research and development related to supporting the body’s stem cell activity, helping encourage a more youthful healing response and overall regeneration and well-being.
Patients commonly use LifeWave patches to support:
- Improved energy and vitality
- Pain relief
- Enhanced recovery and physical performance
- Mental clarity and focus
- Better sleep
- Improved skin appearance
- Natural wound healing
Backed by clinical studies and over 20 years of development, LifeWave patches are a safe, convenient option that can be incorporated into almost any health and wellness routine. They are easy to use at home and can be combined with acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplements, and lifestyle changes for deeper results.
We believe products should never be “one-size-fits-all.” Everything we carry is selected to complement your acupuncture and herbal treatment plan, support your healing between visits, and provide safe, high-quality options you can trust.
If you have questions about what is right for you, we are happy to guide you toward the most effective product choices based on your symptoms, lifestyle, and goals.
